Pre-extracted RNA

There are a variety of extraction methods and kits available for RNA isolation.  If you are processing your own samples for submission of extracted RNA to our core, we recommend using whatever kit/method you feel most comfortable with or is most appropriate for your sample type.

RNA should be of high quality with a RIN> … If you send in extracted RNA without TapeStation QC, we will perform the QC for you (see Rates). If the sample has a RIN < XX we will contact you to discuss next steps.

gDNA removal should be performed using a DNase treatment.

Tapestation RNA QC will detect gDNA in your sample. If gDNA is detected and it is determine to be too high, we can DNase treat your samples for you using the Invitrogen Turbo DNase treatment post extraction (see Rates).

User Prepared Libraries

The CGI will also accept customer prepared library pools or individual libraries ready for QC and pooling. Please reach out to us if you plan to make libraries in your own lab so that we can advise you on which barcodes are best for you to use. In some cases, the CGI can supply you with barcodes, invoiced to you on a per sample basis. Inquire for costs and availability.
